B.C. s mining industry, long a vociferous critic of the NDP, is watching the polls and accepting a new government may take power in May next year.
Talk about the New Democrat spectre came from sources ranging from Liberal MLA Kevin Krueger, to the president of the Association of Mineral Exploration B.C. and everyday miners and prospectors - all gathered Tuesday at a major Kamloops mining conference.
Gavin Dirom, president of the Association of Mineral Exploration told about 500 people gathered at Coast Kamloops Hotel and Conference Centre the industry is alive to the fact it may be pressing its issues to an NDP government in 2013.
