JOHOR BAHRU: Two senior citizens, trapped in a flash flood which inundated Kampung Laut Batu 9 ½ Skudai, near here yesterday, were rescued by the Fire and Rescue Department last night. Skudai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) operations commander Mohd Riduan Akhyar said the couple, were trapped at home in the flood due to continuous rain since yesterday afternoon. ‘’A search and rescue (SAR) effort to save the two victims, aged 80 and 70 years, was mobilised after receiving a call at 4.36 pm. ‘’A Toyota Hilux and an aluminium boat from the Skudai BBP as well as a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) truck and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services vehicle from Kempas with 14 firemen were roped in for the SAR.
