However, Juni Karimah still managed to get the blessings from her family at the National Yacht Training Centre in Langkawi island before undergoing quarantine at the Malaysian Paralympic Sports Centre of Excellence in Kampung Pandan starting last Sunday.

Three-time SEA Games champion Hup wei is hoping to improve on his personal best of 2.29m.
Kuala Lumpur: Making his third appearance at the Olympics, national high jumper Lee Hup Wei aims to set history as the country’s first track and field Olympian to make it into an athletics event finals.
Based on the Rio 2016 results, the 34-year-old will have to jump in the range of 2.26m and above in the qualifying round, to secure his spot in the finals.
At the 2016 Games, fellow high jumper Nauraj Singh Randhawa together with eight other high jumpers narrowly missed the chance to emerge among the top 15 finalists, despite leaps of 2.26m as they didn’t clear the mark in their first attempt.

(pix) has admitted that technical problems with his machine have affected his performance in this season’s campaign.
The NTS RW Racing team rider had previously shown a marked improvement when he finished ninth at the Italian Grand Prix (GP) at the Mugello Circuit on May 30.
But fast forward to last weekend (June 27), he again faced engine problems in the Dutch GP at the Assen Circuit and ended up in 23rd spot.
“After the race in Mugello, my machine encountered unavoidable technical problems at the German GP (June 20) and at Assen. I am not satisfied with my own performance. I’ve worked hard with my team but luck seems to have deserted me at Assen.

PEKAN: Police have arrested a 21-year-old man and his nephew and seized 250 grammes of drugs worth RM26,620 in a raid on a house in Kampung Pandan, Nenasi here.
Pekan district police chief Supt Mohd Razli Mohd Yusof said police found five packets of syabu and 162 yaba pills hidden in a bear-shaped statue in a bedroom during the 1.15 am raid on Friday.
“Police also confiscated RM1,800 in cash. Initial investigations found that the suspect obtained the drugs from Kuantan and has been active in distributing the illicit substances for two months,“ he told
