BELAGAVI: Postal ballot facility will be extended to Covid-19 patients in upcoming bypolls in the state, Sanjiv Kumar, state Chief Electoral Officer, said in Belagavi on Tuesday. He said patients wishing to use the facility will have to register their names within the stipulated time.
The new system was introduced during byelections in Sira and RR Nagar assembly constituencies last year. Byelections are due in Maski and Basavakalyan assembly seats and Belagavi Lok Sabha seat.

Bengaluru, Feb 1 : The Bengaluru police with the help of Andhra Pradesh transport department busted notorious inter-state car theft racket and arrested seven-members of this gang and seized 48 high-end cars valued at about Rs 4 crore from them, Deputy Commissioner of police (East Division) S. D. Sharanappa said here on Monday.
The notorious gang comprises of 10 members and three of them are still on the run.
According to the police , except for J. Riyaz all other accused hailed from Hindupur, Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], January 25 (ANI): Ahead of the farmer organizations planned tractor rally in Bengaluru in solidarity with the tractor parade in Delhi on January 26, Bengaluru city police commissioner Kamal Pant on Monday said that no permission have been given for the rally inside the city as no permission was sought from any organisation to hold such a rally in the city.
In a statement, the commissioner said that the administration has already conveyed the message that farmers are allowed only in bus, jeeps cars and other speed moving vehicles.
