UHE holds cheque distribution ceremony

LAHORE: A cheque-distribution ceremony was held for merit-based and needy students under first UHE Scholarship and HEC Ehsaas Scholarship Programme at the University of Home Economics (UHE) here on Saturday.
While speaking at the ceremony, UHE Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen stated it was a great pleasure for her to award the First UHE Scholarship to deserving students of the university. “In addition to UHE Scholarships, today we are also distributing Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Programme, which is the largest scholarship project in the country s history for students from low-income families,” she said and added these scholarships were important step toward eradicating poverty by providing financial assistance to deserving but intelligent students. Indonesian envoy briefs students on scholarships

LAHORE : Indonesian Ambassador in Pakistan Adam Mulawarman Tugio on Wednesday visited Government College University Lahore and briefed the students about different scholarships available in Indonesia for Pakistani students. GCU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi and senior faculty members welcomed the development for the benefit of the students and faculty of GCU.
Adam Mulawarman Tugio said different Indonesian universities had been considered among the 200 best universities of the world. “Pakistan and Indonesia are brotherly Islamic countries and there are vast opportunities for cooperation between the two in various fields,” he added.
He pledged to act as a bridge between GCU and different reputed universities of Indonesia for academic and research collaboration.
World urged to take notice of HR abuses in IHK

LAHORE:The Department of Pakistan Studies & Islamic Studies, University of Home Economics (UHE), organised a walk to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and to condemn the brutalities of Indian forces in the Occupied Kashmir.
Addressing the participants, the UHE Vice-Chancellor Dr Kanwal Ameen emphasised that the people of Pakistan were committed to seeking a just and peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the IHK people. A large number of faculty and staff members, heads of all the departments and students participated in this walk. On this occasion, prayers were also offered for the independence of the held Kashmir and the success of the Kashmiri people in their freedom struggle.
