Heinemann CEO Max Heinemann, who has paid tribute the Spanger’s dedication to the company where he has worked for more than four decades.
“With Kay Spanger we bid farewell to a real symbolic figure. He has shaped our company and the entire travel retail industry with his passion and enthusiasm like few others in this long period of time,” Heinemann said.

German family-owned company Gebr. Heinemann has hailed the achievements of long-serving and highly respected Executive Board member Kay Spanger who retires at the end of the month.
As reported in July, Dirk Schneider succeeded Spanger as Chief Commercial Officer on 1 September 2020. Spanger, who began as an apprentice with the company in 1979, is supporting Gebr. Heinemann in an advisory capacity until the year-end.
