April snow falls across western and northern areas of Kansas A spring snowstorm brought 3 to 6 inches of snow to parts of central and northern Kansas Monday night. Hays reported 6 inches of snow, Sylvan Grove had 5 inches, Oakley had 4 inches of snow and Holcomb had 2.5 inches. The National Weather Service in Wichita reported seven-tenths of an inch, breaking a record of two-tenths for an April 20th in 2013.   An area northeast of Hutchinson reported 3 inches.    Great Bend reported a 2-inch snowfall.   Augusta had two-tenths of an inch. Temperatures remained at or above the freezing mark in the Wichita area and no major problems were reported with driving conditions.
