The Kano Police Command has announced the arrest of four teenagers that specialize in breaking of tailoring shops and stealing of sewing machines and textile materials. Also arrested were those who knew the items were stolen but went ahead to purchase them.
This was made known to newsmen on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna at the police command in Kano.
“While on intelligence-led patrol at Gwale Quarters, Kano, the police arrested one 14 years old Halifa Iliyasu of Gwale Quarters Kano, in possession of one sewing machine suspected to be stolen property.

A female kidnapper and two men have been arrested by the Kano Police Command for allegedly kidnapping a child of Galadanchi ward head, Ado Sunusi, in Gwale Local Government of Kano.
After the police traced the car in which the boy was abducted, they arrested the driver at Beruit Road, in Kano.
Through him, the woman s whereabouts was revealed, and it was learnt that the woman is the gang leader.
Kano Police Command yesterday raided a house in Kano, allegedly rented by kidnappers and arrested five suspects.
The incident occurred in the outskirt of Kano metropolis, at Jaba, Ungoggo Local Government, following intelligence report.
Sources revealed that four persons, including a female accomplice was arrested during the operation.
The kidnappers were traced to their hideout by the police after they had abducted 2 people from Zamfara state and kept them in a rented home at Jaba village.
Police spokesman in Kano, Mr Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the incident to THISDAY.
Kiyawa, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) explained that the “operation is ongoing.”
