Police Burst Kidnappers Den in Kano, Arrest 5 Suspects

Kano Police Command yesterday raided a house in Kano, allegedly rented by kidnappers and arrested five suspects. The incident occurred in the outskirt of Kano metropolis, at Jaba, Ungoggo Local Government, following intelligence report. Sources revealed that four persons, including a female accomplice was arrested during the operation. The kidnappers were traced to their hideout by the police after they had abducted 2 people from Zamfara state and kept them in a rented home at Jaba village. Police spokesman in Kano, Mr Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the incident to THISDAY. Kiyawa, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) explained that the “operation is ongoing.”

Armed gang hacks factory worker to death in Kano

Share Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins in the early hours of Monday stormed Kurna community and killed one Idris Salisu Goma, a factory worker, in Kano metropolis. A source who preferred anonymity disclosed that Goma worked with a fertilizer company in Ungoggo Local Government of Kano State. The source hinted that the gang met Goma in the midst of a prayer and attacked him with machetes. “We tried to rush him to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, but he had lost so much blood. He gave up before we reached the hospital,” the source said. It was also disclosed that in the past few days, the armed gang has been frequently terrorising the local community.
