Townsville, Ingham and Bowen have all been named as finalists in the Queensland Tourism Industry Council award. Both Townsville and Bowen have been recognised in the Large Top Tourism Towns category, while Ingham has been recognised as a Small Top Tourism Town. Magnetic Island. QTIC chief executive Daniel Gschwind the award helps showcase the great and diverse destinations around the state. With the current focus on domestic tourism, now is the time to draw attention to our regional destinations and to put the spotlight on our tourism operators and communities who keep our regions thriving, Mr Gschwind said.
