They say the kids are the future, and if the results of Toyota’s annual Dream Car Art Contest are any indication, the automotive industry is in excellent hands.
Every year since 2004, Toyota has sponsored a worldwide event asking kids to submit pictures of their own dream cars. It is now one of the largest art contests for children in the world, inviting, “future artists, designers and engineers to share their ideas about the future of mobility.”

A TOTAL of 750 children participated in the just-concluded 14th Edition of Toyota Dream Car Art Contest which held in Abuja, Port Harcourt and Lagos, from February 5 to 12, 2021.
The contest produced nine winners, one from Port Harcourt, two from Abuja and six from Lagos, with the children challenging Toyota to produce their dream car in the future.
Toyota Nigeria Limited rewarded the winners with brand new laptops each. Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is an annual CSR initiative of Toyota Motor Corporation Japan to develop the innate artistic talent in children and to cultivate an enduring relationship with them and by extension, their parents.

Nine winners have emerged for the 2020 Toyota Dream Car Art Contest which is a corporate social responsibility initiative of Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan.
The contest is for three age categories comprising 7 years and under; 8-11 years and 12-15 years.
During the 14th Dream Car Art Contest in Abuja, 220 children participated; there were 222 participants in Port-Harcourt and 308 in Lagos.
Three winners emerged from each category in Port-Harcourt, Abuja and Lagos centers respectively, making a total of 27 winners from the three zones. Three finalists from each age category then emerged as national winners.
One of the winners emerged from Port-Harcourt, two from Abuja, and six from Lagos. At the presentation of prizes to winners held at the Toyota Headquarters in Lagos, the Managing Director, Mr Kunle Ade-Ojo charged the winners to continue to showcase their God-given talent and excel at what they do. Cars through the eyes of kids: Toyota launches 15th Dream Car Contest
Designed to drive creativity in kids, entries are now open for the 15th edition of Toyota s Dream Car Contest - an international initiative which gets children to share their ideas about the future of cars.
In a statement released on Wednesday 3 February 2021, Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) announced that entries to the 15th annual Toyota Dream Car Art Contest are now open.
TSAM is inviting entries from children who are under the age of 15 years before the competition closes on 31 March 2021. The contest is a Toyota initiative aimed at encouraging children to explore their creativity and transport their imagination beyond our physical confines.
