If you’re looking for a definitive answer to the question of whether or not your pup is smarter than the average dog, then author and professor of canine psychology Stanley Coren’s 2006 book, The Intelligence of Dogs, is an excellent reference point. It’s widely accepted among the community of canine devotees as an accurate representation of the trainability and overall intelligence of breeds recognized by the American and Canadian Kennel Clubs.

OTTAWA, ON, May 4, 2021 /CNW/ - Following a review of existing import requirements, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is implementing changes for commercial dogs under 8 months of age that are imported for breeding and resale end uses (which includes adoption) to improve compliance with humane transport and animal health requirements.
This review was initiated after the inspection of an air shipment of dogs in June 2020, in which a number of dead and sick dogs were found and other non-compliance issues were identified. The on-going investigation into that incident has led CFIA to take certain enforcement actions.

HALIFAX The Halifax District RCMP says it has received several reports of online marketplace scams over the last month. According to police, the scams sometimes happen to a victim who posts an ad online; the suspect pretends to be a buyer, asks the victim to ship the item promising payment to follow, but never pays after they get the item in the mail. The RCMP says this has happened to people selling various items, such as clothes, electronics, and instruments. PUPPY SCAMS The RCMP is also issuing a warning about puppy scams. According to the RCMP, the suspect will post an ad for a puppy online. When the victim enquires about the dog, they are asked to pay a deposit. Once the money has been sent, the victim is given a fake address to pick up the dog and, at that point, the suspect stops responding.
