Food banks across Indiana are receiving financial assistance. Eleven food banks across the state will see the help. Together, the banks distributed over 156 million pounds of food to those in need. This includes Catholic Charities in Terre Haute. State officials tell us that Catholic Charities is receiving over $43,500. The state awarded $1 million in total across the state.

(WTHI) - Organizers of the Wabash Valley Rubber Duck Regatta have announced a change for the fundraising tradition. Ducks will not race down the Wabash River this year. Instead, a large dump truck will release the 16,000 tagged ducks onto the lawn of Fairbanks Park, northeast of the arch.  Organizers say the Wabash River at the Theodore Dreiser Memorial Bridge is about one foot above flood stage. They don t want to put volunteers in an unsafe situation. One lucky duck will still win $10,000. The duck will be chosen from the lawn.

These price increases stretch further than the gas station. If you visit the grocery store, you may be in for an unpleasant surprise. By the time you do groceries, medicine, and gas, it doesn t leave a lot for your regular bills, Shirley Frakes, Terre Haute resident, said.
