The Lafayette Council on Aging, like many local non-profits, was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Fundraisers were canceled left and right.
But the COA didn t quit, and decided to hold a unique fundraiser that would give three lucky winners nearly everything a bartender could ask for and, at the same time, help a great non-profit do some great work.
After nearly a month-long chance to purchase tickets for the giveaway, the Stock the Bar raffle was held Thursday night at Legends in Scott.

Cold weather is on the way to Acadiana over the next few days, and area organizations are working to protect those most vulnerable and in need.
The Lafayette Council on Aging is urging Acadiana seniors to be prepared for the frigid temperatures.
Executive Director Kathy Boudreaux says that seniors should check to make sure heaters are in good working condition, look at seals around their doors, and contact the Council on Aging if they are in need. Boudreaux adds the organization has extra blankets and heaters, and anyone who needs one should contact them.
