Best gaming laptop in 2021: play PC games on the go

PC gaming is portable now, provided you ve got the right gaming laptop While the perfect way to play the best PC games is on a full-sized desktop, sometimes size constraints or a nomadic lifestyle make a gaming laptop a great alternative, ensuring you get PC gaming quality wherever you go. However, choosing the perfect gaming laptop takes a lot of commitment. When you build a gaming PC you can swap out parts later if you want an upgrade. Because laptops often feature bespoke components and aren’t designged to be tinkered with, it isn’t as simple as picking out the best graphics card and best gaming CPU to suit your personal needs. Not only is there less customisation, but you have to look at other laptop-exclusive requirements, such as battery life, screen size, resolution, build quality, and aftermarket care.

Asus ROG Flow X13 Review

7:19 All Specs As powerful as it is compact, the Asus ROG Flow X13 (starts at $2,999; $3,299 as tested) is a 2-in-1 convertible gaming laptop that stands just 0.62 inch tall, weighs 2.9 pounds, and still manages to deliver a reasonably comfortable gaming experience at a 1080p resolution on many titles. This is an impressive (if not wholly groundbreaking) achievement, thanks mostly to the efficiency inside of the AMD Ryzen 9 CPU (one of AMD s new Ryzen 5000 series Zen 3 chips) and Nvidia s GeForce GTX 1650 GPU. But it gets even better: You can pair the ROG Flow X13 with a special, desktop-class GeForce RTX 3080 in a not-too-heavy external graphics enclosure (or eGPU, dubbed the Asus XG Mobile ), offering an even smoother gaming experience at higher resolutions. The XG Mobile can act as a dock on your desk, and, at 2.2 pounds, is even reasonable to lug along at times. On the whole, the ROG Flow and its eGPU make for a unique one-two punch among gaming laptops.

Razer Book 13 review: Arguably the best Windows Ultrabook of 2020

One side effect of the popularity of Razer s laptops has been non-gamers wanting a version. The company has finally listened with Book 13, a name that also implies we could get a Book 15 at some point too. Positioned for regular laptop users, creatives, and anyone who needs an excellent premium Windows Ultrabook, the Book 13 is an outstanding accomplishment that rivals the Dell XPS 13 (and, in some areas, surpasses it).

Razer Book 13 Review

14:56 All Specs Razer first introduced its Blade Stealth 13 line as a productivity-focused alternative to its flagship gaming laptops, but today s Stealth uses an Nvidia GeForce GTX GPU that qualifies it as a unique ultraportable gaming machine. This leaves room in the company s roster for a non-gaming-focus notebook: the Razer Book 13 (starts at $1,199.99; $1,599.99 as tested). We re very impressed with this new ultraportable, whose quality construction and performance put it in the rare company of the Apple MacBook Air and the Dell XPS 13. With its attractive edge-to-edge display, Core i7 processing power, and compact frame that nevertheless makes room for USB Type-A, HDMI,
