(Shutterstock) DAKOTA COUNTY, MN A former Minnesota corrections officer was sentenced Wednesday to 120 days in jail after he was convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. Randy A. Beehler, 54, of Foley, coerced a female prisoner he was transporting into having sex with him, according to authorities. Beehler was also placed on probation for seven years and must participate in sex offender treatment and register as a predatory offender. Wednesday s sentence comes after Beehler s guilty plea on March 24.

Driver in fatal Inver Grove Heights pedestrian crash gets 90 days in jail Dana Thiede © Provided by KARE-TV Minneapolis-St. Paul An Inver Grove Heights woman was sentenced to 90 days in jail, and another month of home monitoring for her role in the death of a pedestrian in January of 2019. Dakota County prosecutors say they are pleased that 32-year-old Breonna Sadi Cotton took responsibility for her actions at the wheel of a vehicle that struck and killed Haimanot Gezahegne Gebremedhin the night of January 5.  Cotton pleaded guilty to one felony count of leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death (that the driver did not cause). In exchange for that plea, a count of failure to notify police of a fatal collision was dropped.
