DARDANELLE — Mayor Jimmy Witt told the Dardanelle City Council during a teleconference meeting Monday that the increase of COVID-19 in the community is the result of a significant spike in cases. “As of Monday morning, there were 180 active cases in the city limits of Dardanelle,” he said. “The seven-day rolling average in Yell County is 14 positive cases per day. The 180 I mentioned does not include the school or nursing home. “The rise in COVID, compared to the last time we had a spike in this area, the difference then was the numbers were isolated to one employer.
