Plans for 156 new homes in Carlisle revealed Cumbrian housebuilder Story Homes has lodged its plans to build 156 new properties in Carlisle. It has applied for planning permission for the estate on land at Orton Road in Carlisle, which forms part of the wider land at Newhouse Farm. The land is allocated for residential development for over 500 homes in the Carlisle District Local Plan 2015-2030. Story Homes’ proposals include a range of two to five-bedroom homes, plus a selection of affordable homes available, it said. Development planner Paul Fenton, said: “We carried out a public consultation late last year and have sought to incorporate comments received in formulating our planning application which has now been submitted to Carlisle City Council.

Application for 335 new Whitehaven homes approved by council planners

Planning approval has been granted to build a further 335 new homes on a development in west Cumbria. Copeland Borough Council planners have approved the application from Story Homes for a third phase of homes on their Edgehill Park development in Whitehaven. HEROIC EFFORTS from local housebuilder firm which has raised thousands A local housebuilder has raised £5,000 for a mental health charity after setting employees a step challenge during the month of March. Story Homes pledged to donate £20 to its charity partner Mind for every staff member who completed 100,000 steps in March and would top this up to £5,000 if staff were able to collectively walk 10 million steps in the month. By the end of March, staff managed to clock up nearly 18 million steps, with over 80 Story Homes employees taking part in the challenge. Story Homes has supported Mind as its charity partner since 2018, and recently announced it would be continuing to support the charity for the 2021/22 financial year.
