Eighteen-year-old Bianca Reyes died on Friday night after she fell from a golf cart in San Pedro Town. Just before midnight, the San Mateo resident was travelling on a golf cart driven by Miriam Rodriguez who lost control of the motor vehicle. Reyes sustained head and bodily injuries. She was transported to the polyclinic on the island, but succumbed while receiving treatment. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero gives details.

“The visited the San Pedro Polyclinic where they found the lifeless body of Bianca Reyes, eighteen years, who had received injuries as a result of the road traffic accident. Information is that she was a passenger on a golf cart being driven by Miriam Rodriguez who lost control and as a result she received the fatal injuries. Miriam Rodriguez was detained and has been charged for manslaughter by negligence and other charges. She was

Shooting in the City Leaves Two Injured
There was a shooting incident in Belize City on Friday night that has left two men hospitalized. Police say that the men were socializing when the shooter attacked them. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero says that the gun violence is believed to be the result of a feud between two gangs.

“There was a shooting on Lake View Street in Belize City where two persons shot. Information was that they were hanging in a yard when a male person came and fired shots over a fence. The two victims are Francis Nolberto and Kent Flores. They received injuries to the body and were taken to the K.H.M.H. They are presently in a stable condition. We are seeking one suspect in connection with this shooting.”
