MANGALURU: International Kannadigas Federation supported by more than 100 Kannada organisations from 30 countries will launch a day-long Twitter campaign #NRIAPPEALDAY to draw the attention of the state government towards strengthening of the NRI Forum, Karnataka.
Hidayat Addoor, convenor, International Kannadigas Federation told TOI that we have been demanding the government to appoint a deputy chairman to the NRI Forum, Karnataka immediately. “We would prefer if the post is given to an NRI who understands the pulse and grievances of the NRIs. On behalf of Kannadigas residing across the world, we will be launching a Twitter and email campaign on January 2. We will also demand the government to strengthen the NRI Forum Karnataka on the lines of the forum in Kerala, he said.

Mangaluru, Dec 18: Days after ruckus prevailed in Karnataka Legislative Council over chairman’s post, which included manhandling of deputy chairman S L Dharme Gowda, a JD(S) MLC, by the Congress MLCs, BJP MLC Prathap Simha Nayak on Friday December 18, terming the chaos as a bad dream said he would apologies to the people of state and regret the incident.
Addressing a press meet at his office here, he said, “The Legislative Council is called a thinkers hall , but the recent development in the Legislative Council affected democratic principles, constitutional values and morality.
