NCL Chief Sales Officer Katina Athanasiou Departs Company
Norwegian Cruise Line chief sales officer Katina Athanasiou is leaving the company.
Athanasiou made the announcement via a Facebook post on Wednesday, writing that she made the personal health decision to delay getting vaccinated, which goes against Norwegian’s employee policy. Instead, Athanasiou writes, she will be “taking my own first step into a new adventure.”
“I’m forever grateful and appreciative of the remarkable people I’ve worked alongside and various opportunities I’ve been lucky enough to experience these past 10 years,” Athanasiou wrote.
According to a letter from NCL president and CEO Harry Sommer, sent to travel advisors and shared with TMR, Athanasiou will stay on with Norwegian in a consultancy role through the end of November.
Athanasiou said the separation was amicable and that it was due to a personal health decision to delay getting a Covid-19 vaccination. She added that she supports the company's vaccination policies.
