Mutual Funds have become one of the most popular investment avenues in recent times. The numbers of investors are increasing steadily. This is because of the high returns investors get by parking their funds in equity. However, mutual funds are not all about equity related instruments. There are multiple funds that invest in different asset classes like equity, debt, real estate, gold, etc. Mutual funds provide ways to diversify investment portfolios. The diversification is advised because it opens windows of investments and thus gives a higher return than any other traditional form of investment. Besides, this minimises the risk investors face while participating in equity.

The disconnect between the Centre and different states is an issue which was highlighted by MAIT.
While hailing the government’s PLI scheme, the industry body MAIT (Manufacturers’ Association for Information Technology) has advocated the need for increased Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) at different state levels.

The end of each year witnesses a series of notes and press conferences by financial services firms on the year to come. The spectacular rally in equities during 2020 in the face of a large contraction in the economy has turned several brokerages relatively cautious.
In a media concall on 16 December, Kotak Securities announced its Nifty target of 13,500 for the end of 2021, below the index’s present level. A Credit Suisse’s note on 17 December said that compared with global and emerging market equities, Indian stocks are no longer cheap and only a short distance from the most expensive they have ever been.
