Lima council panel looks at sidewalk, curb replacements
By Sam Shriver - sshriver@limanews.com
LIMA Lima council’s Safety Services and Neighborhood Concerns committee met virtually Monday to continue its look at the city’s deteriorating curbs and sidewalks.
The meting was a follow-up to one held in February where members were concerned about cars parked on the tree lawn, in the Essex and Catalpa Street areas because of the lack of curbs.
During Monday’s meeting, Public Works Director Howard Elstro indicated that about 60% of the city could use new curbs. Elstro pointed out there are 165 miles of streets and 1,874 city blocks in Lima.
