Bahrain’s Noga drills first exploration oil well in Block 1
MANAMA, 6 hours, 41 minutes ago The National Oil and Gas Authority (Noga) has commenced drilling of the first exploratory well in Offshore Block 1, an area of over 2,800 sq km in the northern territorial waters of Bahrain with a water depth ranging from 10 metres to 70 metres. This came as part of the Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement signed on May 1, 2019 between the Kingdom, represented by Noga, and the Italian company Eni, reported

Oil Minister Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa praised the wise guidance and unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as well as the prominent role of the Higher Committee for Energy and Natural Resources chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which aims to develop energy sources and support the national economy.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced on Monday the signing of an exploration concession agreement with a consortium led by Eni Abu Dhabi, a subsidiary of Italy’s energy giant, and PTTEP MENA, a unit of Thailand’s PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP).
The award has been approved by Abu Dhabi’s Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC). It follows ADNOC’s award earlier this month of an onshore block to Occidental, highlighting how ADNOC continues to leverage and strengthen its strategic partnerships to accelerate the exploration and development of Abu Dhabi’s hydrocarbon resources.

Thailand s PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) and strategic partner Eni have been awarded the concession for the largest exploration block offered by the UAE.
The investment in Offshore Block 3 provides PTTEP with more opportunity to strengthen its investment portfolio in the Middle East, said the Thai company.
Its subsidiary, PTTEP MENA Ltd, and Eni Abu Dhabi BV (Eni), a subsidiary of Italy-based oil and gas company Eni, won 2019 bidding for the concession from the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
