Sea Tow Forecasts Another Busy Summer

A Sea Tow Services International survey of 3,500 boaters found that last-year’s pandemic-related increase in boating activity will continue this summer.
“Our member survey has typically been a very strong indicator for seasonal recreational boating trends,” Sea Tow president Kristen Frohnhoefer
. “Last year, Sea Tow saw a 34 percent increase in requests for on-water assistance in the summer of 2020, and our nationwide network of captains are anticipating another busy season for 2021.”
Sea Tow noted that in 2020, new-boat owners were 142 percent more likely to need ungrounding services, 108 percent were more likely to need fuel, and 11.2 percent were more likely to need a jumpstart.

Sea Tow is honoring one of it’s own as the nation today recognizes International Women’s Day.
As Sea Tow’s Customer Care Center Manager, Alicia Grattan oversees the team that receives calls from around the country all day, every day, all year.
“Even when things are tough, we make it happen,” Grattan
said in a statement. “It’s a good way for my daughter to see that women can really do it all. I try to look to the other female leaders within Sea Tow as an example of how I lead my team.”
Cruise industry veteran Capt. Tom Spina joined Sea Tow Services International as VP franchise operations.
From working for major cruise companies to navigating the logistics of cargo ships as a marine surveyor, Spina brings 26 years of experience to his new position with the nation’s leading on-water assistance provider.

Previously, Spina served as SVP operations for Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, director of business development for Carnival Corp. & plc s global port and destination development group and VP port operations, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. Earlier, he was director of cruise operations for the New York City Economic Development Corp. and a senior marine surveyor for National Cargo Bureau. He also served as a marine inspector for the US Coast Guard.
