An Oregon hiker is thankful to be alive after they fell more than 100 feet from an oceanside cliff while celebrating their birthday.

Tighe, who prefers they and them pronouns, was hiking with their partner when they fell more than 100 feet from an oceanside cliff, according to the outlet.
Tighe ended up landing on rocks and suffering multiple injuries, including a broken arm and fractures in their face, nose, ribs, left elbow and hip.

CANNON BEACH, Ore. A hiker was rescued by helicopter Friday after falling from a cliff at Hug Point State Recreation Site just south of Cannon Beach, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) said.
The USCG helicopter aircrew was told a man had fallen more than 100 feet sometime before 4:30 p.m. Friday. A Seaside Fire Department paramedic was able to reach him before the helicopter arrived.

CLATSOP COUNTY â A Pendleton man was among three people killed in a crash on Wednesday, Feb. 10, northwest of Portland, according to police.
Oregon State Police said troopers and emergency personnel responded to a crash involving two vehicles just after 10 a.m. on U.S. Highway 26 in Clatsop County.
Walter Smith, 21, of Pendleton, was driving a Mercedes station wagon west when he lost control, slid sideways into the eastbound lanes of Highway 26 and collided with a Toyota Tacoma operated by Natalie Swauger, 30, of Seaside.
Smith and his passengers â Erick Fadness, 20, of Decorah, Iowa, and a 16-year-old female from Portland â all suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead, according to state police.Â
