A group of elected officials and community members in Palm Beach County joined forces on Thursday to send a message to the president.
They want immediate aid sent to Cuba.
Delray Beach Mayor Shelly Petrolia and more than a dozen others spoke out in support of the Cuban people who are protesting for their freedom. The people of Cuba have come to our shores in boats and it has been a tragedy that has been ongoing for now 6 decades. It s long enough. We stand with Cuba. I stand with Cuba.
County Commissioner Maria Sachs said Cubans need to brought to Florida, where they ll be safe from the Communist regime that rules their island nation.
