Columnist Mike Berry suggests making Kewanee safer for foot (and pedal) traffic

A loyal readers called the other day and suggested that I write about people walking on the wrong side of the street.
She wasn’t referring to one-way streets, of which I can think of three in Kewanee (West Street, Beach Avenue and Wilsey Court; are there any others?).
The caller meant Kewanee’s wide array of sidewalkless streets. She happens to live in a neighborhood without sidewalks.
Walking on the same side of the street as oncoming traffic is “just common sense,” she said.
