ASX closes flat in mixed session

The S&P/ASX 200 closed flat on Monday in a day of mixed fortunes for companies across the benchmark.
The S&P/ASX 200 added 3 points, sending the index to 7028.8 for a gain of 0.04 per cent, while the All Ordinaries rose 4 points to close at 7286.8, an increase of 0.05 per cent.
More than 60 companies in the ASX 200 registered a positive gain for the day, led by Pointsbet Holdings, the gaming group with operations in Australia and the US, which gained 5.6 per cent to $14.36, its highest closing price since March.
Analysts from Goldman Sachs praised Pointsbet’s update for the first quarter of the year, issued last week, which it described as “a strong set of numbers, further validating our positive thesis on the stock”.
