Overall, almost 7.7 million vax doses have been given since the start of the state’s rollout, and 3,558,197 people are fully vaccinated, according to the latest vax data on Thursday. The state is on track to reach its goal of 4.1 million fully vaxxed people by early June.

The state’s count of estimated active COVID-19 cases has now dropped below 10,000. The tally is now 9,804 cases, a significant decline from 36,775 cases last month. The 188 new virus cases on Monday was the first daily report of fewer than 200 cases since Sept. 22. Meanwhile, nearly 24,000 coronavirus vaccine shots were given in Massachusetts during the most recent day of vaccine data, a drop as the pace of the vaccine rollout slows in the Bay State.
