Vehicle search prompted by open liquor yields 221 grams of cocaine

A search of the vehicle turned up several opened and unopened bottles of liquor, about 221 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The 42-year-old male driver and the 19-year-old female passenger, both from Easterville, were arrested for possessing a controlled substance and Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act offences and taken to the detachment, where they were held overnight. They were released to appear in court at a later date where they will face charges of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
