A Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader Umar Khalid in connection with one of the northeast Delhi Riots cases concerning Khajuri Khas FIR.
According to the court, Khalid cannot be made incarcerate in jail for infinity merely on account of the fact that other persons who were part of the riotous mob have to be identified and arrested in the matter, reported Live Law, citing the court s observation.

Khalid will remain in jail as he is accused in some other cases, including one related to the criminal conspiracy lodged under stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The court noted that even the CDR location of the mobile phone of applicant was not found at the scene of crime on the date of incident.
The bail was granted on furnishing a Personal Bond in the sum of Rs 20,000 with one surety in the like amount.
