Thousands of farmers from across Maharashtra reached Mumbai on Sunday evening to participate in a rally at the state capital on Monday against the Centre s three new farm laws.

Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray will not attend the farmers protest in south Mumbai s Azad Maidan on Monday, sources told News18. However, the CM has sent a message to the protesters, expressing his support.

Nashik (Maharashtra) [India], January 24 (ANI): Nashik farmers affiliated to All India Kisan Sabha and various other farmer organisations started their march towards Mumbai on Sunday.
Farmers will gather in Mumbai and then march towards Delhi so as to support the ongoing two-month farmers struggle in Delhi on Republic Day.
Around 15,000 farmers had already started their statewide vehicle march from Nashik to Mumbai on Saturday. The march, which began from the Golf Club Maidan with hundreds of tempos and other vehicles, was halted in the night at Ghatandevi near Igatpuri.

Mumbai: Thousands of farmers have left from various parts of Maharashtra to participate in a rally at the Azad Maidan here Monday against the Centre’s three new farm laws. Police have stepped up security at the venue in south Mumbai and personnel of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) have also been deployed there. Drones will also be used to keep an eye on the event, a police official said.
The All India Kisan Sabha’s (AIKS) Maharashtra unit in a statement said around 15,000 farmers set out Saturday for the state capital from Nashik in several tempos and other vehicles.

Ahead of a dharna at Azad Maidan on January 25, thousands of farmers from across Maharashtra made their way to Mumbai on foot on Sunday. The event has been organised to extend support to the ongoing farmers agitation and demand repeal of the Centre s three new farm laws.
