Lawmakers sworn into office Tuesday are looking forward to what could be an interesting year with COVID-19 continuing to impact the state and pressing budget issues awaiting them.
State Rep. Jeff Wheeland, R-Loyalsock Township, said the atmosphere in Harrisburg for this year’s ceremonial process was a bit surreal.
“It feels like you are up to your knees in mud as you walk around because everything is socially distant,” he said.
Wheeland said lawmakers were divided in groups of 50 each for the swearing in process, while maintaining social distancing.
“I was in the third group,” he said.
