Essay: MHS says ‘thank you’ to Cub Scouts, Gananda students

It takes a community to maintain buildings and preserve the history of our area. On April 10, 2021, a group of local residents gathered to prepare our grounds and building for our new season. We especially want to thank Macedon’s Cub Scout Pack 166 and members of Gananda High School for helping us.
The Macedon Historical Society maintains two buildings in Macedon Center. The Academy and former Grange building have been gathering places in our community since the 1800s.
Members of MHS and these volunteers worked hard to rake leaves, pick up sticks and clean up the yards. Inside we washed windows, dusted, swept and organized our rooms for the season. MHS has an ambitious schedule for this year with exhibits, “Community Chats” and open houses. We invite all members of our community to check us out.
The World Music Theatre Company has announced the cast and creative team of its 2021-2022 Season of Off-Broadway, Touring, and Streaming Musicals; Workshops and Residencies; and New Media Productions for Film and Television.
Theatrical Productions include VAMOS TODOS: Music Garden, TOTALLY AWESOME Summer Vacation Around the World, HOLIDAY BEAT and the World Premiere of AMAZON ADVENTURE, a re-imagining of The Wizard of Oz told through South American Music and Dance Styles fused with Pop and Broadway. Film/Television Productions include The FunikiJam Show HOLIDAY SPECIALS , The CAPTAIN JAM TV SERIES: World Music Stories and MOVE TO THE MUSIC with CAPTAIN JAM , Season 2.

Stewart Muir Stewart Muir is founder and executive director of the Resource Works Society, a Vancouver-based group open to participation by British Columbians from all walks of life who are concerned about their future economic opportunities. He is an author, journalist and historian with experience on three continents including a financial editor of The Vancouver Sun responsible for mining and markets coverage. Since Resource Works was established in 2014, the group has gained international recognition for its practical approach to the public challenges of responsible natural resource development and use.
BC has a lot of waste. But thanks to local innovators, BC companies are finding a way to use that waste to bring down emissions and supply renewable natural gas.

Ghostlight Ensemble presents the penultimate play in its series on historically overlooked female playwrights, Warp and Woof. The play by the British novelist and playwright Edith Lyttelton scrutinizes the ethics of power, commerce and labor in a deeply unequal society.
Though written in 1904, Warp and Woof remains startlingly relevant, according to director Christina Casano. Over the last year, society has had to classified grocery store workers, public transit workers, streets and sanitation workers, factory workers and the like as essential and yet many of them are paid minimum wage at most, and treated as if they are easily replaceable, she explained.
