After two seasons at the University of Tennessee-Martin–earning All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team and All-OVC Tournament Team honors in the 2020-21 campaign–former Nettleton Lady Raider Dasia Young will be playing her college basketball in the Pac-12 this fall. Young entered the NCAA’s transfer portal, and will play her junior season for Utes’ head coach Lynne Rogers. Monday evening, “The Drive with Brad Bobo” welcomed Dasia into the studio, where she told us what led to her move out west.

LaTrese Saine and Tesia Thompson were each named to the 2020-21 All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team. Saine was also awarded OVC Defensive Player of the Year.
Saine is the second Redhawk in school history to earn OVC Defensive Player of the Year after Adrianna Murphy nabbed the laurel in 2017-18.
The redshirt senior from West Memphis, Arkansas, ranks second in the entire country and first in the conference with 94 total blocked shots (3.76 blocks/game) this season. Saine has also pulled down 216 total boards (8.6 rebounds/game), good for second in the league. She ranks second in the OVC with eight double-doubles, averaging 10.4 points per game.

Okeke (6’5-315lbs) signed with the Washington Football Team as an undrafted free agent in 2019 before going on to spend time with the Kansas City Chiefs and on the Miami Dolphins practice roster.
Prior to his time with the NFL, Okeke played two seasons at Tennessee State University (2017-18) after transferring from Louisiana State University. As a Fighting Tiger he played in all 20 games, starting in 19 at left tackle. In his final collegiate season, the 24-year-old helped lead the offensive unit to an average of 431.3 yards per game, a 105 yard per game increase in total yardage from previous season.
