Ohio Supreme Court Justice Melody Stewart received the prestigious Nettie Cronise Lutes Award from the Ohio State Bar Association.
Ohio Supreme Court Justice Melody Stewart is this year’s recipient of the Nettie Cronise Lutes Award for excellence in the legal profession.
The Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), in a virtual program, conferred the honor to the first Black woman to be elected to Ohio’s highest court.
“Justice Stewart is such a pioneer and a trailblazer for Black women and for little Black girls from Cleveland who were raised in a single-parent household, just like myself,” said Stephanie Adams, chair of the OSBA Women in the Profession Section.

The event included the presentation of the Ohio Bar Medal – the OSBA’s highest honor – to Judge Mary Jane Trapp of the 11th District Court of Appeals.

Amanda Kolitsos has been named director of graphic design for Ohio Farm Bureau. She joined the organization nearly six years ago as a communications specialist. In her new role, Kolitsos will design Ohio Farm Bureau publications Buckeye Farm News and Our Ohio magazine, among other design projects, in addition to overseeing Ohio Farm Bureau brand management.
Prior to her time at Ohio Farm Bureau, Kolitsos was the communications director for the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association.

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The man who pleaded guilty to charges in a hit-skip crash that killed a prominent Cincinnati attorney was sentenced to six years in prison.
Brandon Marksberry, 22, pleaded guilty in March to aggravated vehicular homicide and failure to stop after an accident when he hit 55-year-old Steven Adams.
A judge sentenced Marksberry to six years in prison on Wednesday.
Adams was cycling when a vehicle hit him but did not stop in the 4200 block of Eastern Avenue in Columbia Tusculum about 6:30 a.m. Nov. 1.
