Ooops!:( An error has occurred!   Kern joins Ohio Farm Bureau public policy staff Brandon Kern has been named senior director, state and national policy for Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. He will be responsible for managing the organization’s legislative and regulatory team and will represent the interests of Farm Bureau members with Congress, the General Assembly and with federal and state regulatory agencies. Kern was formerly on the Farm Bureau public policy team from 2013-18 and rejoins the organization after being director of policy and legislative affairs for Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague.

Five new trustees elected to 2021 United Way Board Maier SIDNEY Ryan Maier, superintendent, Hardin-Houston Schools; Aditya P. Sakhalkar, director, Applied Mechanics and Reliability Engineering, Emerson; Mark Seery, vice president of operations, Airstream; Greg Snyder, assistant principal, Sidney City Schools; and Katy Zimpfer, human resources business partner, Emerson; have been elected to the Shelby County United Way Board of Trustees beginning Jan. 1, 2021. Maier, a resident of Houston, joins the Student United Way Committee. He is a graduate of Houston High School, Wilmington College where he earned his Bachelor’s of Education, and his Master’s in Administration from the University of Dayton. He is a member of the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Men’s Group and a Houston youth softball coach. He is married to Gina, and they have three children.

Moody Nolan named 2021 Architecture Firm by AIA

The Columbus architectural firm Moody Nolan has received the 2021 Architecture Firm Award from the American Institute of Architects, the highest award the trade association gives to a practice. The award, given to one firm a year since 1962, recognizes companies that have consistently produced distinguished architecture for at least 10 years. Moody Nolan is the first African American and first Ohio firm to win the award, which has been given to a host of blue-chip practices including Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, I.M. Pei & Partners and Cesar Pelli & Associates.  Founded in 1983 by Curt Moody and engineer Howard E. 1,000 Club / Huffman reaches milestone, wins conference, national Player of the Week The first week of the women’s basketball season couldn’t have been much bigger for Ashlyn Huffman. The senior from Columbus North scored 53 points in two games for Cedarville (Ohio) to eclipse the 1,000-point mark for her college career. She was subsequently named Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Player of the Week and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Player of the Week. “Those were incredible honors,” Huffman said. “We play in a very good conference. It’s been a really neat week, and I’m excited to play the rest of the season.”
