Updated: Jan 01, 2021 10:28 AM New Officials to be Sworn in at Osage Commissioners Meeting   Ty Loftis The Board of Osage County Commissioners will meet for its regularly scheduled meeting at the fairgrounds this Monday at 10 o’ clock in the morning. Beginning at 9 a.m., there will be a swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected officials across the county. This includes incoming commissioner for district two, Steve Talburt. During the meeting, the commissioners will seek to appoint a chairman and vice-chairman for 2021 and set the county mileage reimbursement rate for the year as well. Emergency Manager Jerry Roberts will give information about the COVID-19 vaccine and its arrival into Osage County. The commissioners will also have continued discussion regarding making possible amendments for those entering the Osage County Courthouse or other county-owned properties.

Both Bellamy and Paslay made mention of what an honor it had been to serve in their respective positions. The commissioners took no action regarding making possible amendments for the public entering the Osage County Courthouse, but all three commissioners acknowledged they are battling COVID-19 in their county shops.

District one commissioner Randall Jones said one of his employees recently died from the virus and district three commissioner Darren McKinney said four of his employees currently have it. All three commissioners stressed that it is important to continue taking the virus serious and take the proper precautions to avoid getting the coronavirus.

District one commissioner Randall Jones said one of his employees recently passed away from the virus, making this a difficult time heading into Christmas.     Jones says they are doing all they can to keep their employees safe while at work and it is important to keep your guard up, especially during these winter months.
