Missouri bar responds to outrage after bartender crumples up military ID, calls it fake

Six members of the U.S. military walked into a bar at the Lake of the Ozarks in early May expecting service, but the bartender crumpled up one of their IDs and told them to get the f - out, a viral video shows.  Noel Cook, who says he is in the Air Force, posted a video of the confrontation on Facebook, writing that he has never been more heated about a non-racial interaction with someone and the straight disrespect he had for fellow service members. The bartender, Josh Weitkamp, can be seen crumpling up an ID that belonged to a member of the group and throwing it away after calling it fake. 

LOTO Lounge bartender in Osage Beach Missouri denied a veteran s ID

Lake Sun Leader On May 2, a now-viral video was filmed of a bartender at LOTO Lounge crumpling up the ID of a veteran and claiming it was a fake ID. That claim has since been disproven and LOTO Lounge has responded. Osage Beach Police Lieutenant Michael O Day confirmed that no arrests were made during the incident. The police were called out to the scene on May 2 and were made aware of the situation. He says they retrieved the ID and confirmed that it was valid. Both parties were calmed down and the group with the veteran, which O Day believed to be around five to six people, left the bar.

Camden County to hold mass vaccine event March 7 Submitted Content Lake Regional Health Organizers are using names already on waiting lists to fill appointments for a mass vaccination event coming to Osage Beach on March 7. Lake area health departments and Lake Regional Health System, in partnership with the Missouri National Guard and the Department of Health and Senior Services, are working alongside first responders to plan the mass vaccination event, scheduled Sunday, March 7, at the School of the Osage. Coordinating agencies include public health, health care, fire and police officials. This event, which was postponed from February due to weather, will provide vaccination appointments to 2,500 area residents who have already joined waiting lists.
