Newberg man accused of shooting son in head with pellet gun found dead in cell KATU Staff
Yamhill County deputies found a
Deputies found Shane Earl Rader unresponsive in his cell at about 7:45 p.m. They and medics tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead.
Rader had been in jail since June 15 after he was arrested when police said he got into a domestic violence situation at the home of the mother of his children just outside of Newberg. Police said he shot his son with a high-power pellet gun and then fled with him and his 6-year-old brother.
