PORTLAND, Ore. (CNS) The pandemic, for all its horrors, pulled Catholics into the digital age.
Parishes scrambled to livestream Masses. Bishops and Catholic officials launched talks on video. With aplomb, Catholic schools converted to online learning.
And now a Portland-based not-for-profit liturgical publisher has released an app that gives quick digital access to church music, readings, prayers and the Order of Mass.

At a time when Catholic parishes and campus ministry programs are experiencing particular financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Oregon Catholic Press has opened the application process for its annual Parish Grants Program. BLACK HISTORY MONTH Dramatic presentation on Sr. Thea Bowman set for Feb. 22
Catholic Sentinel Staff Comments (1) St. Anthony Parish in Tigard is co-hosting a dramatic presentation highlighting the wisdom of Sister Thea Bowman, the granddaughter of slaves and a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration who is being investigated for sainthood. The virtual event, Monday, Feb. 22, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., will center on Sister Thea’s life and work and how they apply to today’s need for racial reconciliation, said Danny Rauda, social justice coordinator at the parish.
Spanish language interpretation will be available for the Zoom-based event, co-hosted by the Metropolitan Alliance for Common Good.
