The Desert Hot Springs Library will close its doors at 3 p.m. on May 1 as it prepares to relocate to a new facility.
After 17 years at its current 3,527 square-foot location at 11-691 West Dr., the library will be moved to a new 15,000-square-foot facility at 14-380 Palm Drive.
The new library will feature study rooms, adult and teen spaces, a children s library, a family reading area, technology stations, “opportunity spaces” to be used for a variety of activities, a community room and more programs.
The new facility is currently under construction. The Riverside County Library System plans a summer 2021 reopening at the new facility, although no exact opening date has been set.
