On April 24, the Wolf Creek Trail in Grass Valley will be the site of a joyful celebration. The Bear Yuba Land Trust will host a NatureFest offering activities and ideas to help you explore nature. Project Wild Edges will present Work in Progress, Resilient Forest, from noon to 12:50 p.m., which takes place alongside the newly designated Daspah Seyo Trail, in honor of our first peoples, the Nisenan.
Community artists Jenny Hale and Lisa Barker’s first iteration of Project Wild Edge, an immersive theater performance meant to explore the complicated nature of the wild urban interface, will take place from noon to 12:50 p.m. Saturday on the Wolf Creek Trail in Grass Valley.
The event coincides with the Bear Yuba Land Trust’s NatureFest, which will take place that same day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cascade Canal, Litton, Wolf Creek and Alan Thiesen trails.
Hale, Project Wild Edge’s co-creative director, said the first practice performance this weekend will give actor-dancers and viewers alike an opportunity to connect with the life and art source before the final performance takes place in spring 2022.

Join Bear Yuba Land Trust for the First Annual NatureFest! Grab the family and head outside for a day full of self-guided fun and activities! We’ll be set up at four local trailheads to pass out activities and ideas to help you explore nature and enjoy the outdoors! This event is free! REGISTRATION OPEN
Participate at one of four trails in the community: Alan Thiesen Trail (at Adam Ryan Wildlife Preserve in Alta Sierra), Wolf Creek Trail (near downtown Grass Valley), Litton Trail (near Sierra College in Grass Valley) or Cascade Canal Trail (on Banner Mountain in Nevada City). Please only register for one trailhead.

New rustic thoroughfares have been added along Wolf Creek through the combined efforts of the city of Grass Valley, Bear Yuba Land Trust, Wolf Creek Community Alliance and the Nevada City Rancheria.
Locals and visitors alike can participate this month in the land trust’s inaugural NatureFest, a free event dedicated to engaging families in the outdoors.
