The 84th season of live Thoroughbred and Arabian racing at Delaware Park opens this Wednesday, May 26, with a first race post time of 1:15 p.m.
The opening week festivities will continue with live racing cards slated for Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 29, and Monday, May 31.
Live racing will be conducted on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays in 2021. Thursdays will be added June 24 through September 30. The Grade 3 Delaware Oaks is scheduled for Saturday, July 3, and the Grade 2 Delaware Handicap will be run on Saturday, July 10.
The 29th Owners Day, featuring four Delaware Certified Stakes, will be Saturday, September 25. The 77-day meet will conclude on Saturday, October 16.

Three-time defend leading rider Carol Cedeno will be taking a run at history when the 84
th live racing season at Delaware Park begins on May 26. The Delaware resident will be going for a record seventh leading jockey title at the Stanton-oval.
Since 2014, the native of Puerto Rico has been the leading jockey every season with the exception of 2017. She is currently tied with another Delaware Park legend Michael McCarthy who won six titles from 1996 through 2000 and 2002.
Three-year-old It’s a Gamble earned his first stakes win when he scored in Friday’s Jersey Derby on opening day at Monmouth Park.

Delaware Handicap Day has been scheduled for Saturday, July 10 and Delaware Oaks Day has been slated for Saturday, July 3 for the upcoming the 84
th live racing season at Delaware Park.
During the week between, the track will also card two weekday stakes, both at 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf and both restricted to Delaware certified runners. The Peach Blossom, for fillies and mares, highlights the Wednesday, July 7 card, while the Sussex, for three-year-olds and up, is the Thursday, July 8 feature.

Delaware Handicap Day has been scheduled for Saturday, July 10, and Delaware Oaks Day has been slated for Saturday, July 3, during the upcoming the 84th live racing season at Delaware Park.
The Grade 3 Robert G. Dick Memorial, for fillies and mares going 1 3/8 miles on the grass, will be the supporting feature on the Delaware Handicap Day card and the Grade 3 Kent Stakes, for 3-year-olds going 1 1/8 miles on the grass, will be the supporting feature on the Delaware Oaks Day card.
After being shortened to 1 1/8 miles last year due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Grade 2 Delaware Handicap will return to the traditional distance of 1 1/4 miles. The Grade 3 Delaware Oaks will remain at the distance of 1 1/16 miles.
