HALIFAX A 51-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after a car crashed into a cemetery in Midgell, P.E.I. on Monday night. At 8:10 p.m. on May 10, emergency crews responded to a call that a car that had crashed into the Midgell Cemetery on Route #2. Police say when they arrived, the male driver of the vehicle had left the scene on foot. According to police, “it was evident that a small hatchback had crossed the roadway and careened through a six-inch post continuing to strike a few grave stones.” Police say seven headstones were damaged, some beyond repair, including one that had been in near perfect condition since it was situated in 1937.
April 20, 2021 - 12:12 PM An alleged drug-impaired driver was taken off Kelowna’s roads earlier this morning, after being spotted driving on a sidewalk. Kelowna Mounties received a call April 20 just after 6:30 a.m., from an area resident who reported a grey Mazda 6 being driven onto the sidewalk near the intersection of Springfield Road and Cooper Road in Kelowna, Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy said in a press release. A police officer dispatched to the scene conducted a traffic stop with the car in question and driver of that vehicle allegedly exhibited signs and symptoms of impairment by drugs, during his interaction with the police officer roadside.

In the afternoon of March 2, RCMP responded to a report from the public of a possible impaired driver. Members conducted patrols and located the suspect vehicle on Keith Ave.
A traffic stop was initiated where an officer conducted a roadside screening of the driver. Through the investigatoin it was believed the driver was impared by drugs. During this time, the passenger of the vehicle was observed attempting to hide bags of a white substance between their legs.
The driver received several violation tickets along with a Driving Prohibition and the vehicle was impounded. The passenger of the vehicle was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Failure to Comply with Undertaking. Police then located gloves which contained suspected Methamphetamines and Purple Fentanyl.
