Odisha government on Friday announced the cancellation of Class 12 board exams conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE). Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered the cancellation of the exam this year keeping in view the pandemic situation. Life is more important than exam, Mr Patnaik said.

The decision on Odisha Board Exam 2021 is finally being announced. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik orders suspension of all 10th & 12th board exams in the state. All schools and hostels remain closed from Monday in view of the COVID 19 surge. The Odisha Board Exam 2021 was scheduled earlier to begin from May 3, 2021, and conclude on May 15, 2021.

Odisha School and Mass Education Minister SR Dash Saturday said students from Class 1 to Class 8 may be given promotion to the next class without any examination as schools have remained closed for them since March 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The minister said a final decision in this regard will be taken by the government soon.
The classes for the students of Class 1 to Class 8 will not reopen soon in view of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in some states.
Mr Dash also said that the new academic session may not start in April this year.

Odisha Government To Provide Free Exam Guide Book To Class 10 Students Parikshya Darpan , a 700 page guide book will help students to prepare for the upcoming crucial board examination. In order to reduce the stress of the students, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had asked the department to help candidates, School and Mass Education Minister S R Dash said.
