This week Britain’s biggest family, the Radfords, were invited to Alton Towers Resort to test out the rides and hotel rooms after months of being cooped up indoors. Sue Radford-who went to school in Kendal-and her husband Noel, along with 15 of their 22-strong brood packed up five suitcases, two pushchairs, and loaded a 17-person minibus to visit the resort in their first family outing since lockdown restrictions eased across England on May 17. In newly released pictures and film footage the family, who live in Morecambe, can be seen putting all areas of the resort to the test ahead of half-term; waiting with bated breath at the Oblivion ‘drop’, shrieking as they span on The Smiler, ordering a whopping 17 hot dogs on Towers Street and playing a large-scale game of hide and seek in the historic gardens.
