Suspect hit by bullet after shooting at his neighbor — who fired back

Photo: Calvin Grisham A gunfire exchange in Ozark County between neighbors ended with one man in handcuffs and a bullet wound to the hand. The Ozark County Times reports Calvin Grisham of Dora is being held without bond in the Ozark County Jail. His age was not provided on court documents. Grisham is charged with a Class B felony of unlawful use of a weapon by discharging a firearm at a habitable structure and the unclassified felony of armed criminal action. A bond reduction hearing is set for Tuesday. The Class B felony carries a sentence of five to 15 years in prison, and the unclassified felony carries a sentence of three to 15 years in prison.

The trailer was attached to a truck that also reportedly stolen. The WPPD says in a social media post, if this could be your trailer, contact either the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department or the West Plains Police Department. The post notes the trailer is mostly submerged. However, if you’re missing a trailer, you are encourage to call for more information.

Woman who entered sheriff s office with meth in pocket headed to prison

Photo: Amber Sue Davis An Ozark County woman arrested on a drug charge, after law enforcement reported she walked into the sheriff’s office, crying and talking to herself, is headed to prison. The Ozark County Times reports 34-year-old Amber Sue Davis of Theodosia appeared before Circuit Judge Craig Carter earlier this month for a probation violation hearing. The appearance marked Davis’ sixth probation violation since pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance in May 2018. She admitted to violating her probation. Her probation was revoked, and she was sentenced to the Missouri Department of Corrections for three years. The newest violation report was filed following a Nov. 29 incident when Davis reportedly entered the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department, crying and talking to herself. She was arrested on an active warrant that had been previously issued, and deputies reportedly found methamphetamine in her pocket, court documents say.
