Executives of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, have again, met with the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, to explain why they would not suspend the strike action they commenced on April 6 to demand for the implementation of financial autonomy for the Judiciary.

Photo by Hameed Oyegbade By Thu Apr 22 2021 The Deputy Governor of Osun State, Benedict Alabi, was held down in Osogbo by members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) and lawyers from Nigeria Bar Association(NBA) on Thursday in a protest to demand financial autonomy of the judiciary. The protesters started at the High Court, Oke-Fia and marched to Customary Court through to Federal High Court opposite Osun State House of Assembly at Gbongan/Osogbo road. When members of the two unions were marching to the Osun Government Secretariat, the convoy of the Deputy Governor was passing on the same road.

JUSUN: Protesters block Osun deputy governor s convoy

Share The Convoy of the Osun State deputy governor, Mr Benedict Alabi, was, on Thursday, delayed for about 20 minutes by the protesting members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) and Nigeria Bar Association(NBA) while going for an official duty in his office. The protesters who barricaded the road when the deputy governor convoy ran into them, prevented the convoy from moving. Despite the pleas of security agents that, the deputy governor and his entourage should be allowed to go their way, they remained adamant until they narrowly escaped when they entered into a filling station around the protesting scene and hurriedly zoomed off.
